Yamitza Cordero-Ferrer, MD, FACS, is a board-certified internal medicine physician at Family Medical Doctors, serving adults in New Port Richey, Florida, and throughout Pasco County.
Dr. Cordero-Ferrer began her professional pursuits at the University of Puerto Rico (UPRM) Mayagūez where she earned her Bachelor of Science in pre-medicine, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
She then moved to Mexico and enrolled at The Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (UAG) in Zapopan, Jalisco. There, Dr. Cordero-Ferrer earned her Doctor of Medicine.
Following graduation, Dr. Cordero-Ferrer completed a Fifth Pathway program at the New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York, followed by an internal medicine residency, also at New York Medical College.
Since entering private practice, Dr. Cordero-Ferrer has served in various clinics and medical facilities along the east coast. She has a special interest in chronic care management and loves helping the individuals under her care achieve healthy, vibrant lives.
Dr. Cordero-Ferrer is fluent in English and Spanish. When she isn’t meeting with patients or building upon her professional skills, she enjoys ballroom dancing and playing volleyball.
