The reason why the name of our practice was originally conceived was because our two physicians are both father and son. The logo itself represents both physicians who are not only themselves part of a loving family, but also who consider their staff and patients to also be a part of that family.
Bharat Desai, M.D.
Dr. Bharat Desai has been a established physician in the West Pasco community for over 40 years. He was born and raised in Gujurat, India and after hard work and unparalleled dedication to his field, he graduated medical school and moved to the US for his postgraduate training. He completed 3 years of residency in Internal Medicine and 2 years of fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. Soon after completing his training, Dr. B Desai moved to New Port Richey, FL where he not only started a family but also his medical practice in both Pulmonary and Internal Medicine. Throughout the years, he has been able to lay a deep footprint in the community by not only establishing a high quality of medical care for his patients but also for those who are unable to obtain it due to financial or social reasons. He started the Good Samaritan clinic many years ago and it has grown to a facility that is capable of providing medical care to a large population of those in need. He has been joined by his son, Nilesh Desai, M.D., in growing this practice into what it is today.

Update 5/2023: Bharat Desai has officially retired from seeing patients but he still remains an integral part of the practice. He focuses his time helping manage the company on the business side as well as providing ongoing teaching to our staff. He will at times still come to the office and see emergency patients as he does love being a doctor and helping others.
Nilesh Desai, M.D.
Dr. Nilesh Desai is one of the skilled, board-certified internal medicine physicians at Family Medical Doctors in Trinity, Florida. Dr. Desai offers unparalleled patient-centered care to those he treats. He was born in Detroit, MI yet raised as a local resident in Tampa, FL up until the end of high school. He formally received his undergraduate and medical training at the University of Miami and completed 3 years of residency at Rush University in Chicago, IL. He eventually returned back to Florida to continue his medical career. Nilesh was given the opportunity to join his father, who has been an established physician in the community for 40 years, in starting a new medical practice in Trinity, FL. The practice has been growing over the last 14 years and he hopes to continue to grow so that he can provide the care that this community needs.
Esmeralda Horozovic, APRN
Esmeralda is one of our two new NPs who have joined our family of excellent and caring providers. She is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who received her bachelor’s in nursing from the University of Florida (go Gators!) and spent 7 years working as a hospital nurse in intensive care, cardiology, and vascular surgery. She went on to obtain her master’s in nursing practice at the University of South Florida right here in Tampa. Esmeralda is dedicated to caring for patients with honesty and kindness, focusing on educating and empowering them to live healthier lives. Her approach to care is to treat each patient as if they are her own family member. You will often find Esmeralda greeting you with a big smile and lots of enthusiasm. On her free time Esmeralda enjoys spending time with family/friends, traveling, and trying new cultural foods.

Laurie Parrish
Laurie Parrish was born and raised in Long Island, NY. She later moved to Florida in 1986 where she eventually got married and started a family that has grown to include 2 wonderful children. Laurie has been with us since the beginning. She started working with Dr. B Desai in 1991 where she was in charge of billing and has worked her way up through the office to become our dedicated office manager.
Amber Fredrickson
Amber Fredrickson has been a local resident since birth. She graduated with her RMA from Central Florida Institute and has completed an externship at Trinity Urgent Care. She started working for Dr. B Desai 8 years ago but has been working with Dr. N Desai as his medical assistant for the past 14 years. She has been dedicated to ensuring that we provide you with the best quality care. She recently graduated with her associates degree in Health Science.
Venessa Xavier
Venessa Xavier has been working with us for the past 14 years. She is originally from Rhode Island and moved to Florida in 2005. She went to the Ultimate Medical Academy in Clearwater, FL and did an externship at the North Pinellas Children's Medical Center. She just recently graduated from nursing school at Rasmussen and is now a Licensed Practical Nurse. She is currently Amanda's nurse.
Emily Poe
Emily Poe is one of our newest medical assistants. She has been here at FMD since 2022. Originally from Virginia, she moved to Florida 28 years ago. She went to school at Advanced Medical and works as Esmerelda's medical assistant.
Holly Bradt
Holly Bradt has been with us since 2015. She was born in Fort Hood, TX and moved to Lutz in 1991. She is married to a loving husband and has one child. She was one of our main receptionist at our old office but has since moved to our authorization department.
